AGATHOCLES / ULRIKES DREAM (split EP)
ULRIKES DREAM is an anarchist punk band from Leuven (Belgium). In 2000 or so these guys released an EP called “if it leads… it bleeds”. It was their first vinyl record and by their own admission they made all kinds of mistakes. It sounded horrible. It looked horrible.
Later they have made records that were much better: better recordings, better artwork… check “Van 9 tot 5” (2010), “Anarchie in Leuven” (2017) or “Levend en Luid” (2022)… all decent albums that got good reviews. But still… they can´t forget the terrible EP from 2000.
Twenty five years later, ULRIKES DREAM decided to re-record some of the old tracks for a new and better 7″ release. The recordings sound great: 6 minutes for 6 songs, all tight and brutal. They asked vocalists from some cool bands to do guest vocals: Lucce (from THE END OF ERNIE, track 1 & 3) , Stijn (from crusty crew PESTICIDE, track 2 & 3), Alwin (from epic crust band VERVAL track 3 & 4), C3A (from 90’s cult band LES BAUDOUINS MORTS track 3 & 5), and Hazie (from grindcore outfit INTESTINAL DISEASE track 3 & 6) all contributed to this record.
ULRIKES DREAM asked their friend Jan AG and he agreed to make this a split EP with AGATHOCLES. The AGx recordings are… of course the brutal mincecore you´d expect from this legendary Belgian band.
